Ingredients: sagoo khichdi

  • 250 gms of sagoo
  • 150 gms of Bengal gram dal.
  • 100 gms each of carrots, French beans,potatoes, tomatoes
  • 1 cup peeled green peas
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • leaves freshly chopped coriandar
  • oil for sauting
  • salt and sugar as required

How to Make sagoo khichdi

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make sagoo khichdi in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Soak the sagoo in warm water for an hour.
  • Step 2
  • Cut all the vegetables in cubical pieces
  • Step 3
  • Wash the bengal gram dal and fry it on a low flame with salt and turmeric and the vegetables.
  • Step 4
  • Add with it peas and chillies (chopped )and keep frying.
  • Step 5
  • As the vegetables become tender add water and bring to boil on a medium flame.Gradually add the sagoo and stir.
  • Step 6
  • When the mixture thickens add sugar as per taste.
  • Step 7
  • Remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
