Ingredients: Salisbury Steak

  • 2 lb potatoes, mashed
  • 1 lb broccoli, steamed
  • Patties
  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 packages dry onion soup mix
  • Gravy
  • 1 can low sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can golden mushroom soup
  • 1 packages low sodium brown gravy mix
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 8 oz sliced white mushrooms, washed

How to Make Salisbury Steak

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Salisbury Steak in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix beef, milk, breadcrumbs and dry onions soup mix (I make my own to reduce sodium content) together in a bowl. Form into 8 to 10 patties. Sear on each side and set aside to drain.
  • Step 2
  • Mix together both cans of soup, brown gravy mix and broth.
  • Step 3
  • Place patties in 4qt crock pot in a pyramid pattern.
  • Step 4
  • Add mushrooms and cover with gravy. Cook on low 4-6 hours. Serve over mashed potatoes and a vegetable on the side.
