Ingredients: Salted Caramel Apple Layer Cake with Cinnamon Marscapone Cream Frosting

  • CAKE
  • 3 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup fresh shredded apple, I used Cortland, use large holes of a box shredder
  • 3/4 cup my Salted Caramel Sauce, recipe attached in direction step #4
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3 large eggs
  • FILLING AND FROSTING
  • 1 recipe my Vanilla Marscapone Filling and Frosting, recipe attached in direction step #9
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • GARNISH
  • Salted Caramel Sauce recipe in direction # for drizzling
  • 1 tbsp decorative sparkle sugar

How to Make Salted Caramel Apple Layer Cake with Cinnamon Marscapone Cream Frosting

  • Preheat oven to 350. Spray 3 - 8- inch cake pans with bakers spray

  • In another late bowl beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy

  • Add Salted Caramel Sauce, recipe attached below and vanilla and beat in

  • Add eggs one at a time, beating after each egg,stir in shredded apple

  • Add flour mixture, alternating with buttermilk in three additions
  • Step 7
  • Divide batter between prepared pans and smooth tops
  • Step 8
  • Bake for 28 to 32 minutes until toothpick comes out just clean. Cool on wire racks 10 minutes then remove from pans and cool completely
  • Step 9
  • FOR FILLING AND FROSTING, Combine Vanilla Marscapone Filling and Frosting, recipe attached below, with the 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Step 10
  • FROST CAKE. Put one layer, bottom side up on serving plate
  • Step 11
  • Add some of the Cinnamon Marscapone Filling
  • Step 12
  • Add second cake layer, bottom side up, am frost
  • Step 13
  • Add top layer, bottom side up and frost entire cake
  • Step 14
  • Drizzle top with some salted caramel sauce and sprinkle with decorative sugar. Refigerate at least 2 hours before cutting
