  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 (10 ounce) can mild Ro-Tel (diced tomatoes with green chilies)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 oz uncooked penne pasta
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions

How to Make Sausage Pasta (Spicy)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 10 steps you must follow to make Sausage Pasta (Spicy) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In an oven safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium high heat until very hot.
  • Step 2
  • Add the sausage and onions and cook until lightly browned, about 4 minutes, stirring often.
  • Step 3
  • Add the garlic and cook about 30 seconds.
  • Step 4
  • Add the broth, Ro-Tel, cream, pasta, salt and pepper.
  • Step 5
  • Stir.
  • Step 6
  • Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to medium low.
  • Step 7
  • Simmer until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
  • Step 8
  • Remove from the heat and stir in half of the cheese.
  • Step 9
  • Top with the remaining cheese and sprinkle with the green onions.
  • Step 10
  • Place under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melted, browned and bubbly.
