  • 4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup roasted vermicelli
  • 1/2 cup dry fruits (cashews and raisins)
  • 2 cup cane sugar
  • 1/4 tsp powdered cardamom
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)

How to Make Sevaiyan (Semiya) Kheer

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Sevaiyan (Semiya) Kheer in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a small pan, take the ghee, and roast the dry fruits until the cashew nuts become brown, and the raisins puff up. Turn off the heat.
  • Step 2
  • In a saucepan, bring the milk to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
  • Step 3
  • Add the sugar and the cardamom powder. Stir for another minute.
  • Step 4
  • Add the roasted vermicelli, and continue to boil on low/medium heat.
  • Step 5
  • In about 5-6 minutes, the vermicelli should be cooked through completely. And most of the dry fruits, leaving aside a few pieces for garnish.
  • Step 6
  • Serve in individual portions, and garnish with the remaining dry fruits. Serve hot, and enjoy!
