Ingredients: Shoyu Chicken

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 lb chicken, cut to bite size pieces

How to Make Shoyu Chicken

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Shoyu Chicken in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix all ingredients, mix well before adding chicken. .
  • Step 2
  • Marinate for 1 hour - overnight
  • Step 3
  • Saute chicken in sauce over medium heat until cooked through. If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tbsp evaporated milk with 1 tbsp cornstarch. Add to chicken mixture while heating, cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
