  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 6 cups water
  • 3/4 cup fresh lime juice, divided
  • 1 pound medium shrimp
  • 1 cup chopped peeled cucumber
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 Tbsp Mexican hot sauce (such as Tamazula)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 Avocado

How to Make Shrimp Ceviche

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Shrimp Ceviche in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Place chopped onion in a colander, and rinse with cold water. Drain
  • Step 2
  • Bring 6 cups water and 1/2 cup juice to a boil in a Dutch oven. Add shrimp; cook 3 minutes or until done. Drain and rinse with cold water; peel shrimp.
  • Step 3
  • Combine shrimp and 1/2 cup juice in a large bowl; cover and chill 1 hour. Stir in onion, cucumber, and remaining ingredients.
  • Step 4
  • Dice avocado into squares using the skin as a cup to dice
  • Step 5
  • Add diced Avocado and Serve immediately or chilled.
