  • 1 pound andouille sausage, cut into rounds
  • 2 green peppers
  • 3 stalks celery diced
  • 1 onion diced
  • salt
  • Pinch crushed red pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 can (28 ounce) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups rice
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 bundle fresh thyme
  • 5 scallions (opt garnish)

How to Make Shrimp Jambalaya

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Shrimp Jambalaya in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Make shrimp stock using shells and water. Bring to a boil, turn off let sit 15-20 mins
  • Step 2
  • Heat oil in large pot
  • Step 3
  • Brown sausage 4-5 mins
  • Step 4
  • Add peppers, onions, celery, season w/ salt and red pepper cook 7-8 mins add garlic cook 2-3 mins
  • Step 5
  • Add tomatoes, cayenne, rice, 4 ci[s shrimp stock, thyme, bay leaves, Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer and cook 25 mins
  • Step 6
  • Stir in shrimp cook 5-7 mins
  • Step 7
  • garnish with scallions
