  • 1 pint Half and Half
  • 1 stick Butter (do not use margarine)
  • 1/2 pound good Smoked Sausage
  • 1 1/2 pounds Shrimp (cleaned and deveined)
  • 2 TBSP minced Garlic
  • 2/3 cup chopped Green Onions
  • 8 oz Spiral Pasta
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • to taste Cajun Seasoning

How to Make Shrimp Monica

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Shrimp Monica in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Sauté the sausage, onions, and garlic. No need for oil as the sausage will render some. Once there is a little oil in the pan, add the shrimp.
  • Step 2
  • Cook till the shrimp is done. Drain and save oil, set the rest aside.
  • Step 3
  • Make pasta according to the box.
  • Step 4
  • Melt the butter into a pan, add the half and half. Bring just short of a boil and add the shrimp mixture and pasta. With the saved oil make a small blonde roux and add it to the pot with the rest.
  • Step 5
  • Stir well and warm over medium heat until the sauce thickens. Serve with garlic bread.
