Ingredients: Shrimp Toast

  • shrimp toast
  • 6 large fresh cleaned shrimp, tails removed
  • 2 slice white bread with crusts cut off
  • 1 scallion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 several cups of oil used to deep fry, amount varies by method used for frying

How to Make Shrimp Toast

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Shrimp Toast in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In food processor, add all ingredients except oil. Shrimp should be cleaned, shelled and tail removed. Pulse several times to achieve a fine chop. Do not pulse into a paste!
  • Step 2
  • On one slice of bread with crust removed, spread with shrimp mixture. Top with other slice of bread. Cut bread into four triangles.
  • Step 3
  • In deep fryer or deep skillet bring oil to 350°F. Fry shrimp toast 1-2 minutes per side. You are looking for a light golden brown color.
  • Step 4
  • I only make the one serving but you may easily double and triple recipe. I suggest making enough to enjoy freshly made. Leftovers are not suggested.
