  • 115 grams margarine
  • 130 ml sunflower oil
  • 100 grams castor sugar
  • 200 grams soft brown sugar
  • 3 eggs,beaten
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 130 ml milk or soya milk
  • 350 grams plain flour
  • 4 tbsp quality cocoa
  • 2 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 450 grams zucchini/courgettes ,peeled and grated
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 225 grams plain chocolate dots

How to Make sig's Courgette & Chocolate Cake

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make sig's Courgette & Chocolate Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • preheat oven to 190C/375 F/Gas5.Line 23cmx33cm baking tin with non-stick baking paper.
  • Step 2
  • cream margarine,oil and sugars together until fluffy,beat in eggs and milk
  • Step 3
  • sift flour,baking powder ,allspice and cocoa and gently fold into butter mixture.Stir in grated courgettes ,(or you can slice them and use a blender and blend them in )and vanilla essence,spoon into tin and smooth top.Sprinkle the Chocolate dots over top
  • Step 4
  • bake for 35-45 until cake is firm and a knife or skewer comes out clean,cut into squares whilst still warm and then leave to cool
