  • 170 to 180 ml Water (cold water in the summer, lukewarm water in the winter) or milk
  • 3 pieces Large walnut pieces (for decoration, no need to roast these)
  • If using a bread machine for the whole process (use the "soft" bread program)
  • 250 grams Bread (strong) flour
  • 25 grams Sugar
  • 30 to 50 grams, (to taste) Walnuts (roasted)
  • 20 grams Margarine (or butter)
  • 3 grams Salt
  • 3 grams Dry yeast
  • 170 to 180 ml Water (cold water in the summer, lukewarm water in the winter) or milk

How to Make Simple Walnut Bread Rolls

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 13 steps you must follow to make Simple Walnut Bread Rolls in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put all the ingredients in a bread machine, and use the "dough" program or one that stops after the 1st rising.
  • Step 2
  • When the first rising is complete, divide the dough into 3 portions.

  • Round off each ball of dough again.

  • When the dough has doubled in size, the 2nd rising is done.
  • Step 7
  • Make cuts in each piece with kitchen scissors to make them into walnut shapes.
  • Step 8
  • Make 4 cuts in each (in a cross pattern) as shown in the photo.
  • Step 9
  • Put a walnut in the center to decorate.
  • Step 10
  • Press the walnut down firmly all the way to the bottom. If you don't press firmly enough, it'll pop off when baking.
  • Step 11
  • When all 3 rolls are formed, bake in a preheated 180 °C oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
