  • 2 cup shelled raw sunflower seeds

  • 1 tsp hickory smoke seasoning or 1 tablespoon soy sauce

    Step 1
  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan on medium high heat.

  • Add the sunflower seeds and garlic.

  • When the seeds begin to change color, reduce the heat to medium and continue stirring until about half the seeds are lightly browned, less than 5 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Remove the seeds from the heat, and add salt to taste.
  • Step 6
  • After 5 minutes, when the sunflower seeds begin to cool, add the hickory seasoning or soy sauce and stir well.
  • Step 7
  • Allow the seeds to cool completely.
  • Step 8
  • Store in a tightly covered jar or tin.
