  • 1 Whole Sweet Onion
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 1 head Cabbage
  • 1 bunch Collard Greens Or Greens Already Cut Up
  • 1 1/2 lb Bacon
  • 1 Onion Powder, Adobo, Seasoned Salt, Garlic Powder, Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 cup olive oil

How to Make Smothered Cabbage and Collard Greens

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Smothered Cabbage and Collard Greens in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut up the Bacon. Chop the bacon in half, then the halves in half. Then cut up your Onion and Garlic.
  • Step 2
  • Add Bacon, Onion, and Garlic to a pot with a 1/4 cup of oil. Cook until Onions are soft and the Bacon has some color.
  • Step 3
  • Add the cleaned Collard Greens to with the Bacon, Onion, Oil, and Garlic. Cook for 10mins.
  • Step 4
  • After 10mins, add the Cabbage. Season to taste with all your seasonings. As the greens become softer, taste to be sure its to your desire.
