  • 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 2/3 cup Flour
  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 1 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cinnamon Sugar

How to Make Snickerdoodles

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Snickerdoodles in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step 2
  • Measure flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a sifter. Sift, and set aside.
  • Step 3
  • Mix shortening, sugar, and egg together with an electric mixer until creamy.
  • Step 4
  • Slowly mix in the dry ingredients to the wet. Small amounts at a time. Stir until blended.
  • Step 5
  • Roll dough into walnut sized balls and roll in cinnamon sugar. Place on ungreased cookiesheet about 2 inches apart.
  • Step 6
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cookies are done when the edges of the cookies just slightly begin to gain color. Cracks will form with small bubbles popping. You do not want a golden color.
