Ingredients: Soboro (Crumbled) Tofu

  • 2 blocks Firm tofu
  • 2 packs Bonito flakes
  • 6 tbsp Mirin
  • 6 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tsp Sugar

How to Make Soboro (Crumbled) Tofu

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Soboro (Crumbled) Tofu in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Wrap the tofu in paper towels and then heat in the microwave for 7 minutes at 600 W to drain the moisture.
  • Step 2
  • Once done, take it out and put a weight on top to continue draining the moisture.
  • Step 3
  • Add the tofu and bonito flakes in a frying pan on high heat (don't add oil) and mash gently.
  • Step 4
  • Once it's mashed enough, mix in the mirin, soy sauce and sugar with the tofu and bonito flakes.
  • Step 5
  • Once the moisture has evaporated and the tofu is completely broken up, it's done.
