Ingredients: Soorgee

  • 300 grams Wheat Semolina
  • 250 grams butter
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • boiling water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp elatchi

How to Make Soorgee

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Soorgee in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In pot on low heat, add Semolina until lightly brown
  • Step 2
  • Remove Semolina. In same pot, add butter until golden
  • Step 3
  • On low heat, add Semolina to melted butter. Drop in a cinnamon stick. Mix to a smooth texture
  • Step 4
  • Add boiling water until roughly 1 fingernails worth above the Semolina. Take off stove.
  • Step 5
  • Add the sugar and ground elatchi. Note: microwave elatchi to remove skin
