Ingredients: Sophie's favourite lasagne

  • Mince
  • 3 tsp garlic puree
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 450 grams minced beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped and fried chorizo
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup browned/sauteed chopped onion
  • White sauce
  • 1 vegetable stock cube
  • 80 grams butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 80 grams grated strong cheese, such as cheddar.

  • 1 lasagne sheets
  • 1 carrot, chopped into small chunks
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup green beans
  • 1 handful of spinach
  • 1 enough grated cheese to top

How to Make Sophie's favourite lasagne

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 14 steps you must follow to make Sophie's favourite lasagne in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Step 2
  • Mix your mince ingredients together simmer on a low heat. If seems at all dry, add a little water.
  • Step 3
  • In a saucepan, melt your butter.
  • Step 4
  • While your butter melts, crumble your stock cube into your flour.
  • Step 5
  • Begin mixing your flour mixture into the melted butter until it's formed a thick paste. Don't let it get too dry - if you're not confident you'll do it quickly, then take it off the heat while you do this.
  • Step 6
  • Add 100ml of your milk and whisk it ask together until smooth. Repeat until you've used all your milk.
  • Step 7
  • Add your nutmeg and cheese, and stir until the cheese is melted. Remove from the heat.
  • Step 8
  • In your lasagne dish, place a later of meat. Top with 1/2 of each of your vegetables, except the spinach.
  • Step 9
  • Next, add a layer of lasagne pasta sheets. I prefer fresh egg lasagne sheets as I can cut them to the right size.
  • Step 10
  • Pour a thick layer of white sauce on top (about half your mixture).
  • Step 11
  • Top the white sauce with spinach leaves, and then pasta sheets.
  • Step 12
  • Add another layer of meat & the rest of the veg, to with pasta, white sauce, and then cheese.
  • Step 13
  • Bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until a knife slides to the bottom of the dish with no resistance.
  • Step 14
