  • 200 grams grated cheese (I used red Leicester)
  • 30 grams cream cheese
  • 2 finely chopped jalapenos
  • outer part of the meatball
  • 750 grams lean minced beef
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 finely chopped white onion
  • 1/2 tbsp mixed herbs
  • 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 breadcrumbs made from 2 slices of bread
  • 100 ml milk
  • sauce
  • 400 grams passata
  • 1/4 tbsp mixed herbs
  • 1/4 tbsp chili powder

How to Make Sophie's jalapeno cheese filled meatballs

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 12 steps you must follow to make Sophie's jalapeno cheese filled meatballs in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  • Step 2
  • Mix your cheeses and jalapenos together and make into 24 balls about the width of a thumb.
  • Step 3
  • Place on a baking tray, and put into the freezer.
  • Step 4
  • In a large bowl, mix your breadcrumbs and milk. Leave for 5 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Mix in the rest of your outer meatball ingredients together in the bowl.

  • Remove your cheese balls from the freezer. Make meatballs with them in the centre, packing them tightly.
  • Step 7
  • Place on a baking tray as you finish each one. Once done, bake for 25 minutes.
  • Step 8
  • While your meatballs cook, place all your sauce ingredients into a frying pan and simmer gently.
  • Step 9
  • When the meatballs are almost done, put your pasta on to cook as per the instructions.
  • Step 10
  • When the meatballs are done, remove from the oven and place in the frying pan in the sauce. Turn them to coat them.
  • Step 11
  • If your meatballs leaked any cheese, pick this up (avoiding any oil) and add to the sauce.
  • Step 12
  • When your pasta is cooked, serve and enjoy!
