  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 8 (1/2-inch) slices stale sourdough
  • 4 tbsp butter

How to Make Sourdough French Toast

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Sourdough French Toast in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, agave and salt.
  • Step 2
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Step 3
  • Dip bread into mixture, allow to soak 1 minute, flipping half way. The softer your bread the less time you need.
  • Step 4
  • Over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a saute pan.
  • Step 5
  • Place 2 slices of bread at a time into the pan and cook until golden brown, about 90 seconds per side.
  • Step 6
  • Repeat with all 8 slices.
  • Step 7
  • Set a wire rack inside large rimmed baking sheets. Place bread on rack and put in oven for 5 minutes.
  • Step 8
  • Serve immediately topped with syrup or yogurt and berries.
