Ingredients: SOUTH AFRICAN TRIFLE

  • 1 large swiss roll or sponge cake
  • 1 packages jelly/jello flavour of your choice
  • 75 ml sweet or medium cherry, rum, brandy or another liquor.
  • 1 fruit of your choice peeled and sliced (berries, bananas and peeches go well)
  • 1 Custard
  • 1 chopped nuts or berries
  • 1 whipped cream
  • 1 grated chocolate

How to Make SOUTH AFRICAN TRIFLE

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 11 steps you must follow to make SOUTH AFRICAN TRIFLE in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Make the jelly and allow to set.
  • Step 2
  • Make the custard and allow to cool.
  • Step 3
  • Slice the Swiss Roll (or sponge cake) and place at the bottom of a large glass bowl.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the alcohol over the swiss roll/cake
  • Step 5
  • Chop up the set jelly and place over the cake at the bottom of the bowl
  • Step 6
  • Add fruit to the concoction and  pour custard over
  • Step 7
  • Sprinkle nuts or berries on top
  • Step 8
  • Cover with whipped cream.
  • Step 9
  • Decorate the top of the trifle with the nuts and/or grated chocolate.
  • Step 10
  • Refrigerate and serve cold
  • Step 11
  • Enjoy.
