  • 3 cup uncooked macaroni or pasta of choice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 salt & pepper
  • 1 cup smoked chedder, shredded
  • 1 old bay (optional)(add any seasonings of choice here)
  • 8 oz velveeta cheese, shredded (cut back for less creamy)
  • 1 cup sharp chedder, shredded
  • 1 cup Colby & Montgomery jack cheese blend, shredded

How to Make Southern Baked Mac & Cheese

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Southern Baked Mac & Cheese in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven 350
  • Step 2
  • Cook macaroni or pasta of choice; drain, set aside.
  • Step 3
  • In a large bowl add milk, heavy cream and cheeses, except smoked chedder
  • Step 4
  • Stir to combine
  • Step 5
  • Talk milk mixture, add salt & pepper until good. Add old bay or other seasonings here.
  • Step 6
  • Add eggs and stir.
  • Step 7
  • Butter 9×9 dish
  • Step 8
  • Pour milk/cheese mixture over macaroni. Top with smoked chedder.
  • Step 9
  • Bake 35-45. Cool 10-15.
