  • 2 large bananas, sliced
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step 2
  • Stir pudding mix into milk in medium saucepan.
  • Step 3
  • Add egg yolks.
  • Step 4
  • Stirring constantly, cook on medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil.

  • Remove from heat.
  • Step 6
  • Arrange layer of cookies on bottom and up sides of 1 1/2 quart baking dish.

  • Add layer of banana slices; top with 1/3 of the pudding. Repeat layers twice, ending with the pudding.

  • Beat egg whites and salt in medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until foamy.
  • Step 9
  • Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  • Step 10
  • Spoon meringue mixture lightly onto pudding, spreading to edge of dish to seal.
  • Step 11
  • Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until meringue is lightly browned.
  • Step 12
  • Serve warm or refrigerate until ready to serve.
