  • 1 can Black beans

  • 2 cup Wild rice
  • 1 Jalapeño
  • 3 cup Chicken broth
  • 1/2 large Sweet onion
  • 1 pinch Oregano

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Southwest Chicken Gumbo in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Slice fresh chicken breasts into strips and put Into crock pot
  • Step 2
  • Drain corn and black beans. Then put into crock pot
  • Step 3
  • Chop sweet onion and jalapeño in small pieces and throw them in there
  • Step 4
  • Add 2 cups of wild rice (uncooked) in the pot
  • Step 5
  • Add three cups of chicken broth and two cups of milk
  • Step 6
  • Stir to coat all of the chicken and make sure ingredients are all mixed around. Cook on low for 3 hours while stirring occasionally
