  • 2 filets Spanish mackerel (sawara)
  • 50 ml Sake
  • 30 grams Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 50 ml Organic whole-soy bean soy sauce

How to Make Spanish Mackerel Teriyaki

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Spanish Mackerel Teriyaki in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put the organic whole soy bean soy sauce, sake and sugar in a bowl and mix together. Add the fish filets and marinate.
  • Step 2
  • Heat up the oil in a frying pan. Add the drained marinated Spanish mackerel filets to the pan, and cook slowly over medium-low heat on both sides. ※ If you wipe out any excess fat or oil in the pan with paper towels as you cook the fish, they're less liable to burn.
  • Step 3
  • Add 2 tablespoons of the marinating liquid to the pan, and coat the fish filets with it until they are brown and shiny. Serve.
