  • 2 vanilla beans, split lengthwise

  • 2 whole anise stars
  • 1 liter bottle of rum (10 Cane rum is recommended)

How to Make Spiced Pear Infusion

    Step 1
  • To roast pears, core and halve them and wrap them in aluminum foil.
  • Step 2
  • Roast in a preheated 350°F oven for about 25 minutes, or until the pears start to sweat and soften.
  • Step 3
  • When cool enough to handle, cut into slices.
  • Step 4
  • In a clean, dry jar, combine the sliced roasted pears and all other ingredients.
  • Step 5
  • Let sit for at least 48 hours.
  • Step 6
  • If a stronger pear flavor is desired, let sit for another 48 hours.
  • Step 7
  • Strain liquor and bottle.
  • Step 8
  • *This can be used in rum drinks, both cold and hot, or served with juice or ginger ale.*
