  • 2 cans Tuna
  • 1 Red Onion
  • to taste Cayenne
  • to taste Salt & Pepper
  • to taste Dry Oregano
  • to taste Dry Basil
  • 1 Egg
  • Sriracha
  • Mayonaise
  • 1 Tbsp Flour (heaping)
  • Mixed greens or arugula

How to Make Spiced Tuna Cake Sandwich

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Spiced Tuna Cake Sandwich in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a bowl, empty tuna (drained, first).
  • Step 2
  • Dice half the red onion and reserve other half for slices to out on the sandwich. Add finely diced onions to the bowl
  • Step 3
  • Add in dried oregano, basil, salt and pepper, cayenne and flour.
  • Step 4
  • Crack egg and mix gently. Form four equal patties and set aside.
  • Step 5
  • In a separate bowl, mix sirracha and mayonnaise together for a spread to put on the bread surface.
  • Step 6
  • In a heated pan, put a tbsp of olive oil and add patties to sear on each side on medium high heat. 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Flip and repeat.
  • Step 7
  • Toast rye bread or your other favorite bread. Spread butter and sirracha mayo spread. Add mixed greens (i used arugula) and sliced red onion. Add the cooked patties. Slice lengthwise diagonally and enjoy.
