  • 2 lb Sirloin steak, cut in thin strips

  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Hot pepper jelly OR Asian sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Smoked garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Ground corriander
  • 3 tbsp Sriracha hot sauce
  • 1 tsp McCormick brand Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 2 cup Beef broth
  • 3 tbsp Cornstarch, mixed with a little water to create a slurry for thickening

How to Make Spicy Pepper Steak

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Spicy Pepper Steak in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Slice peppers and onions in equal size pieces (thin 2 inch strips or so).
  • Step 2
  • Slice beef in same size pieces as veggies.
  • Step 3
  • Add all remaining ingredients to the beef (EXCEPT Beef broth and cornstarch).
  • Step 4
  • Let beef marinate for 30 minutes or more.
  • Step 5
  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium high heat. Add beef and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Step 6
  • Add peppers, onions, and broth.
  • Step 7
  • Reduce heat to medium low (or a low boil). Cook for about 30-40 minutes uncovered. Check broth and adjust seasoning to your liking.
  • Step 8
  • Add the cornstarch slurry, stir and cook until thickened (5 minutes)
  • Step 9
  • Serve over cooked rice.
