  • 3 Tomato
  • 1 piece Tamarind
  • 1 tbsp Gingely Oil
  • 3 clove Garlic
  • 1 piece Ginger
  • 2 Small Shallots
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 2 pinch Asafoetida Powder
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander Leaves
  • Hot Water
  • Salt

How to Make Spicy Tomato Soup (Tomato Rasam)

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Spicy Tomato Soup (Tomato Rasam) in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Heat oil in a pan. Crush shallots, ginger & garlic. Add it to the oil. Saute.
  • Step 2
  • Add pepper powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder & cumin powder. Mix well.
  • Step 3
  • Chop the tomatoes into small pieces (you can also grind it). Add it to the pan. Close the lid & cook the tomatoes.
  • Step 4
  • Add some salt & hot water. Taste the mix. If it's not sour enough, crush the tamarind in little water, filter & add it to the mixture. Else skip this step.
  • Step 5
  • Add asafoetida powder. Mix & boil.
  • Step 6
  • Add the chopped coriander leaves into it. Stir & boil for two minutes. Turn off the stove.
