How to Make Sponge Cake

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Sponge Cake in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 250°C Celsius. Beat the vegetable oil with the granulated sugar for 30 seconds.
  • Step 2
  • Add the eggs and beat the mixture for 4 - 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
  • Add the baking powder, the vanilla extract, and the pinch of salt. Beat for a few seconds.
  • Step 4
  • Add the all-purpose flour gradually, beating the mixture after every addition. If the mixture is too thick, add some milk to it.
  • Step 5
  • Oil the baking pan and sprinkle it with flour to prevent the cake from sticking.
  • Step 6
  • Pour the mixture into the baking pan then put it in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Step 7
  • Check the cake using a toothpick. It should come out dry and clean.
