How to Make Super Easy Madeleines

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 11 steps you must follow to make Super Easy Madeleines in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Whisk the dry ingredients in a bowl (or sift for similar results).
  • Step 2
  • Add beaten eggs and the vanilla oil and whisk all the ingredients together. (Stop mixing when the dry ingredients are incorporated).
  • Step 3
  • Add melted butter in three batches, stirring well with a rubber spatula after each addition.
  • Step 4
  • Optional: If you let the batter rest in the fridge for 30 minutes, it'll make the cakes more delicious (I put the batter in a piping bag and let it chill).

  • Coat the molds with butter, dust with flour and shake off the excess. Fill the molds with the batter (about 3/4 since the cake will rise in the oven).
  • Step 6
  • Preheat the oven to 390°F/200°C. Place the madeline mold into the oven. Reduce the temperature to 350°F/180°C and bake for about 17 minutes (depending on your oven and the mold, baking time may be between 15-20 minutes).
  • Step 7
  • Scallop and heart shaped.
  • Step 8
  • These are bear and tart shaped.
  • Step 9
  • Mini Gugelhupf.
  • Step 10
  • Winnie-the-Pooh and Hello Kitty shapes.
  • Step 11
  • The madeleine moulds (shell, heart, bear, scallop, rose and tart) can easily be bought online. If you want to make cake-like madeleines, use a tart mould. If you want tiny ones with an elevated centre, choose a deep mould.
