  • 2 slice bread
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

How to Make Swedish meatballs

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Swedish meatballs in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Tear bread into pieces & soak in milk. Saute onion in 1 Tbsp butter over med. heat until soft.
  • Step 2
  • Combine bread, milk & onions with next 6 ingredients. Shape meatballs & saute in 2 Tbsp butter over med-low heat until golden brown on all sides, about 7-10 minutes. Remove from pan.
  • Step 3
  • Add flour to pan & cook 1-2 min. Add beef broth & simmer until thickened. Add cream & heat through. Return meatballs to sauce.
