  • 2 Chicken thighs
  • 1/4 head Shredded cabbage
  • 1 tbsp Sake
  • 1 Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp each Katakuriko, cake flour
  • (Sweet & Sour Sauce)
  • 2 tbsp ★Gochujang
  • 2 1/2 tbsp ★Sugar (dissolved in a small amount of hot water)
  • 4 tbsp ★Soy sauce
  • 1 White sesame seeds

How to Make Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Sweet & Spicy Fried Chicken in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, and put into a plastic bag together with the sake, salt, and pepper. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  • Step 2
  • Make the sweet & sour sauce. Mix the ★ ingredients together in a bowl (it's a syrupy sauce).
  • Step 3
  • Add the listed amounts of katakuriko and cake flour to a slightly large plastic bag and mix. Add the chicken from Step 1 to create a coating.
  • Step 4
  • Place the bag down while spreading it out to keep the chicken pieces from lying on top of one another (this is to keep it from sticking together).
  • Step 5
  • Fry the chicken in oil. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
  • Step 6
  • Place the hot chicken in the bowl with the sauce. Mix in a bottom-to-top motion to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce.
  • Step 7
  • Transfer to a serving plate with some vegetables on the side, top with white sesame seeds, and it's complete.
