  • 8 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt, divided
  • 2 cup chopped celery
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese, divided
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

How to Make Swiss Cheese Potatoes

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Swiss Cheese Potatoes in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Place potatoes and 1 tsp salt in a large pot; add water to cover. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Add celery and onion; cook 10-15 minutes longer or until vegetables are tender. Drain; transfer to a large bowl.
  • Step 2
  • Mash potato mixture, gradually adding 3/4 cup cheese, milk, butter, pepper and remaining salt. Transfer to a greased 8" square baking pan; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Step 3
  • Broil 3-4" from the heat for 5-8 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned.
