  • 50 grams Dried sardines
  • 40 grams Walnuts
  • 2 tbsp ★ Light brown sugar (or white sugar)
  • 1 tbsp each ★ Sake, mirin, soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (topping)

How to Make Tazukuri with Walnuts

    Step 1
  • Prepare everything you need, then mix together the ★ ingredients.
  • Step 2
  • Dry roast the walnuts in a frying pan over low heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Break the walnuts up a bit with your hands.
  • Step 3
  • Dry roast the dried sardines separately.
  • Step 4
  • Transfer them to a paper towel. Separate out the whole sardines and discard the crumbs.
  • Step 5
  • In a (small) frying pan, bring the ★ ingredients to a boil, remove from heat, then coat the sardines, walnuts, and sesame seeds in the sauce.
  • Step 6
  • Transfer to a tray to cool. They will stick!
