Ingredients: Teriyaki sauce

  • overnight preparation
  • 1 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cup water
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1 inch of ginger root
  • final preparation
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • thickening
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 water

How to Make Teriyaki sauce

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Teriyaki sauce in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Peel and chop garlic and ginger as fine as possible. Do not crush.
  • Step 2
  • Mix all the overnight preparation ingredients in an air tight container, and leave in the fridge overnight.
  • Step 3
  • Next day, take mixture from the fridge, combine with sugar and honey and heat on stove until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Step 4
  • Let cool and store in a jar in the fridge or consume immediately. Better to let sit for a couple of days.
  • Step 5
  • To thicken, mix cornstarch with a bit of water in a cup and stir or add more water until dissolved. Stir in with the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Stir until thickened and let cool before storing in the fridge.
