  • 5 lb fresh beef brisket
  • 1 tsp kosher or regular salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 2 tbsp liquid mesquite smoke flavoring
  • 1 small onion (1/4 cup)
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup lime juice

How to Make Texas Beef Brisket

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Texas Beef Brisket in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • heat oven to 325°F. Trim some of the fat from the beef. Rub surface of beef with salt, pepper and liquid smoke, then onion and garlic.
  • Step 2
  • Place beef, fat side up in shallow roasting pan. Mix water and lime juice; pour over beef.
  • Step 3
  • Cover and bake 4 to 5 hours or until beef is very tender. Drain. Shred beef, using 2 forks.
