Ingredients: Tipsy Bird

  • 1 Whole Chicken
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (chopped)
  • 1 large Yellow Onion (chopped)
  • 1 Salt and Black Pepper
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 can malt liquor or lager beer
  • 1 cup Apple Juice
  • 1 Olive Oil

How to Make Tipsy Bird

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Tipsy Bird in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Inject all parts of whole Chicken (legs, wings, breast, and thighs) with apple juice
  • Step 2
  • Mix dry seasonings to make an even rub (brown sugar, salt, pepper, chili powder, parsley, garlic powder)
  • Step 3
  • Massage whole Chicken with olive oil, then evenly season with dry rub. Be sure to season inside of the chicken. I like to spank my chicken. (show sum love)
  • Step 4
  • Stuff onions and peppers inside chicken cavity
  • Step 5
  • Stuff half full 12oz beer can in chicken cavity and stand upright on a hot grill (approx. 375°)
  • Step 6
  • I like to let these birds work for about an hour, then I bust em open, down the chest and pour remaining beer all over em
  • Step 7
  • Separate parts of chicken, let cool for a few minutes, and serve
  • Step 8
  • Can also be baked in oven at 375° for 50mins. Check for tenderness. Oven temperature accuracy may vary, so make sure it's done.
