  • 3/4 pints milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 oz plain flour
  • 1 salt & pepper
  • 12 sausages of your choice
  • 2 tbsp oil

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Toad in the Hole in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Preheat oven to 220c ,Place flour in a bowl with a pinch of salt and pepper
  • Step 2
  • Add eggs and milk, whisk until smooth and consistency of double cream
  • Step 3
  • Place oil in roasting dish , arrange sausages in dish and place In preheated oven for 10 minutes
  • Step 4
  • Pour batter over and around sausages, return to oven for approximately 25 minutes,until sausages and batter are cooked through.
  • Step 5
  • Serve with lashings of onion gravy and potatoes and vegetables of choice
  • Step 6
  • For a 'posh' version, wrap sausages in streaky bacon or pancetta and mix some lightly fried sliced onion into the batter. You can also add a pinch or two of dried sage.
