  • 200 grams Japanese pancake mix
  • 40 grams Butter (or margarine)
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Milk

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Toaster Oven Cookies in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Add the pancake mix and sugar to a bowl, then add in the butter by crushing it with your hands, and mix so that the dough is crumbly.
  • Step 2
  • Add in the milk and knead. Knead until the dough comes together and is not floury any more. Let the dough sit for 5-10 minutes if you have time.
  • Step 3
  • Roll out evenly to a 3 mm thickness with a rolling pin, and cut out your favorite shapes. (It'll be more crispy and tasty if it's thin.) Line them up on parchment paper laid on top of aluminum foil.
  • Step 4
  • Lightly place the foil on top and toast in a toaster oven for 10 minutes. It is OK once it is nicely browned. Remove the foil and toast for another minute if you want to add more color.
  • Step 5
  • Immediately line up on a cooling rack or paper towel to let cool and to let the water evaporate, and it is done. You should store them in a storage container.
  • Step 6
  • I think it is okay to reduce the amount of butter down to 30 g.
  • Step 7
  • Extra: if you add in one tea bag into the milk and microwave for a minute and a half, you can make tea cookies.
  • Step 8
  • These will turn out to be very fragrant tea cookies if you use the tea leaves as-is.
