  • 1 block Firm tofu
  • 2 Shiitake mushroom
  • 1/2 Japanese scallions
  • 1 chunk Ginger
  • 1 pinch Katakuriko
  • 1 pinch Salt, pepper
  • 1 Soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar
  • 1 dash Vegetable oil

How to Make Tofu Hamburger Steaks

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 3 steps you must follow to make Tofu Hamburger Steaks in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • After heating the tofu in the microwave for about 3 minutes, drain out the water using a flat dish as a weight. Press out excess water using a kitchen towel, then crumble the tofu.
  • Step 2
  • Finely chop the shiitake mushrooms, onion, and ginger. Sauté them in vegetable oil, then mix with the tofu, salt, pepper, and katakuriko. Form into patties.
  • Step 3
  • Using a little bit of vegetable oil, brown both sides of the burger over medium heat. Serve with teriyaki sauce to taste.
