Ingredients: Tofu Manchuria

  • 1 packet firm tofu
  • 1 cup chopped onions , long sliced
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped peppers( optional)
  • 4 cloves garlic chopped
  • 3 green chilles chopped
  • 3 tbsp spring onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste or ketchup
  • salt
  • olive oil

How to Make Tofu Manchuria

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Tofu Manchuria in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Cut tofu into small cubes and coat with red chilli powder, salt, cornflour and marinate for 30 mins
  • Step 2
  • Shallow fry tofu pieces on pan with oil till coated brown. Remove from pan and place on absorbent paper
  • Step 3
  • In the same pan, add lil oil and fry onion for 5 mins. Add peppers, celery, green chilles, garlic, green onions and fry for few mins
  • Step 4
  • Add ketchup or tomato paste and fry for a min
  • Step 5
  • Add tofu to the pan and add vinegar, soya sauce, salt and mix well and cook for 3 to 5 mins.
  • Step 6
  • Let it thicken up a bit
  • Step 7
  • Serve hot
  • Step 8
  • If you need gravy... add a cup of water with 1 tbsp of corn flour in it and add to the pan and simmer till thickens
