  • 3 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 16 oz Can Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 1 Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 4 Basil Leaves

How to Make Tomato Basil Sauce

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Tomato Basil Sauce in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Saute minced garlic in the olive oil till soft.
  • Step 2
  • Add tomatoes and sugar to the garlic.
  • Step 3
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
  • Simmer sauce for ten minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Add chopped basil.
  • Step 6
  • Note: If you like garlic you can add two cloves. Also I personally dont like super chunky sauce so I blend the tomatoes or just use plain tomato sauce and thicken with tomato paste. You may have to adjust seasonings if you do this.
