  • 3/4 cup small diced celery with some of the leaves
  • 3/4 cup small diced onion
  • 3 clove s of fresh garlic minced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup marsala/red cooking wine
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper/pepper
  • 1 Sugar to taste if desired
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup cream, optional
  • 2 or 3 fresh basil leaves julienned

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Tomato soup - simple and savory in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Clean tomatoes and cut into quarters and puree in blender, leave in blender
  • Step 2
  • Meanwhile, heat olive oil in saucepan on low-med heat, saute celary and onions then add the garlic.
  • Step 3
  • If you want your soup chunky add tomato puree to saucepan. If you want smooth soup add saute mixture to blender and puree all together to desired texture
  • Step 4
  • Pour puree into saucepan, rinse blender with a bit of water and add to saucepan. Add red wine and simmer for 10 min or so
  • Step 5
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Step 6
  • If you desire it creamy, remove from heat, stir in the baking soda (it will foam a bit) then slowly add the cream and stir.
  • Step 7
  • Garnish with basil and ENJOY!
