  • 1 slice Sliced bread
  • 1 small Tomato
  • 1 enough to cover the surface of the bread Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tbsp Ponzu
  • 1/2 to 1 tablespoon Grated cheese (Refer to Step 4 if you don't have it)

How to Make Tomato Toast

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Tomato Toast in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Spread the mayonnaise on the bread. Pour the ponzu in a small bowl, dip each piece of cut tomato, then lay on the bread.
  • Step 2
  • Mix the grated cheese with the remaining ponzu, which should have some tomato juice, and mix. Spread on the tomato, especially around the edges. Toast the bread.
  • Step 3
  • If you use cherry tomatoes, a lot of juice might come out, but it will be fine. Just pour it all on the toast.
  • Step 4
  • If using halved tomatoes, lay on the bread cut side up.
  • Step 5
  • If you don't have grated cheese, make a mock version with sliced cheese
  • Step 6
  • If the tomatoes are too sweet, sprinkle with a bit of salt while eating. Savor that sweetness with each mouthful.
  • Step 7
  • A version with shiitake mushrooms.
