  • 2 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup water (warm)
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil

How to Make Tortillas

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 10 steps you must follow to make Tortillas in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix the dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking powder.
  • Step 2
  • In a separate bowl: combine water and the oil.
  • Step 3
  • Slowly add the water mixture to the dry mixture. Mix as you go.
  • Step 4
  • Lightly flour a cutting board: kneed the dough.
  • Step 5
  • Cover dough. Let sit for 20 minutes.
  • Step 6
  • Break dough into 8 balls. Let sit for ten minutes.
  • Step 7
  • On a floured surface: roll the dough flat. (From the center out)
  • Step 8
  • On a low / medium heated pan, cook the tortillas for about a minute. Check the tortilla and watch the bubbles start to form.
  • Step 9
  • Flip. Once this is done--repeat for the remaining tortillas.
  • Step 10
  • Enjoy.
