  • 6 large Sardines
  • 2 tsp Miso
  • 1 tbsp Katakuriko
  • 1 tbsp Ginger juice
  • 2/3 tsp Salt
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons Sake
  • 800 ml Water
  • 10 cm Leek

How to Make Tsumire (Fishball) Soup

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 4 steps you must follow to make Tsumire (Fishball) Soup in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Remove the heads and innards from the sardines. Open them up and remove the bones and tails, and peel them. Julienne the leek.
  • Step 2
  • Blend the sardines in a food processor for 3 seconds, then mix with the miso and katakuriko and roll into 8 pieces.
  • Step 3
  • Put them in boiling water, and let them simmer for 3 minutes. Add the sake and salt, let them simmer some more, then remove from the heat.
  • Step 4
  • Transfer to serving bowls, and top with the leek.
