  • 1 tuna steaks
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated ginger
  • 4 tbsp Sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp cracked black peppercorns
  • 1 olive oil

How to Make Tuna Tataki

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Tuna Tataki in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Make a paste out of ginger, sesame seeds and pepper. I did this with a Nutribullet. I ground the peppercorns, then the ginger.
  • Step 2
  • Pat paste on all sides of fish.
  • Step 3
  • Heat cast iron pan over medium high heat.
  • Step 4
  • Add oil. Add tuna. Sear on all sides for only 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Step 5
  • Thinly slice. Serve with ponzu sauce, pickled ginger and Wasabi.
  • Step 6
  • Meat should be rare inside. Enjoy! :-)
