Ingredients: Turmeric Rice

  • quick fry
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp onion pounded or fine dice
  • 2 tbsp pounded shallot or fine mince
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder or (2 inches pounded fresh turmeric for stronger flavour )
  • 2 cup rice uncooked
  • season
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 lemongrass ( optional )
  • 2 scew pine leaf ( optional )
  • 2 cup water or stock (optional )

How to Make Turmeric Rice

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Turmeric Rice in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • in pan with butter fry onion and shallot with (pounded fresh turmeric if using ) till fragrant and light brown then add rice
  • Step 2
  • optional you can add water or stock and mix well then add (turmeric powder if not using fresh pounded turmeric) and salt then off heat
  • Step 3
  • transfer to rice cooker and cook as usual
  • Step 4
  • you may add lemongrass and screw pine leaf if you are using
  • Step 5
