  • presoak solution
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 quart water
  • stew
  • 2 1/2 lb softshell turtle
  • 1 tbsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Himalayan pink salt coarse grain
  • 6 large potatoes skin on chopped
  • 5 large carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated garlic powder
  • 4 quart water

How to Make Turtle stew

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make Turtle stew in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Take turtle, 2 quarts of water, and baking soda mix well, soak 30 minutes
  • Step 2
  • peel, and chop carrots. and potatoes, and onions, add them and spices and put into 4 quarts of water and boil
  • Step 3
  • After 30 minutes drain and rinse the turtle put into pot
  • Step 4
  • After 15 minutes mix flour and oil and add to stew
  • Step 5
  • Pull turtle out take meat off the bone, and add back in discard the bones
  • Step 6
  • Cook 5 minutes , then mix cornstarch and quarter cup water, then let the stew boil 2 minutes, stir constantly it will thicken, then let sit ten minutes. enjoy serve with rice
